Raven Rissy (she/her)

Raven Rissy is a practicing Heathen Volva, who primarily deals with Thrusian paths and the art of Seidr, but has knowledge in Vanir, Aesir, Icelandic, Celtic, British Tradition, Shamanism, Wicca, Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Mesopotamian mythologies and is featured in Ryan Smith’s new book, Spinning Wyrd. She is also currently in the process of publishing her own works. RavenRissy hails from the Pacific Northwest of Canada, where her journey has led her to study and practice within the Pagan and Occult Communities for over 15 years. Within her travels she has come into working and studying with Lindy-Fae Hella from Wardruna, Volva: Inger Johanna Trombrog Syverud from Norway, Volva: Cheryl Price from Vancouver Canada and Practitioner: Ljossal Lodursson from Columbia. She has two degrees, one in Graphic Design and the other a Bachelors in the Art and Archaeology of the Ancient Near East, specializing in Egyptology, Mesopotamia and Art History. She is also a graduate of Salmantika Svartiskoli Magic University. RavenRissy is an accomplished professional musician and her band Hem Netjer talks primarily about her spiritual experiences. Her music video “Anubis” is the only video with Ancient Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphs written and hand drawn during her studies at the University of British Columbia. (www.hemnetjer.band)

 

Throughout her spiritual journey thus far, RavenRissy is very grateful to have met some wonderful teachers and elders within her communities. Their vast knowledge and guidance has helped shape her to be who she is today. She is very honored to hold the title of May Queen (2021-2022) within a large pagan organization from the Pacific Northwest. She has also created and been on the council of other pagan groups, such as; The Wyld Women's Weekend (cofounder), Pagan Folk Nights (founder), Occult Club (co-leader) and within other pagan bands such as The Wyrding Way (front female vocalist). She is well practiced with running and teaching one on one, small and large group rituals of up to 60 people, as well as holding sacred space for members within her community, virtually and in person.

 

Currently her path has taken her to Australia where the learning has only just begun. She specializes in: Galdrastafir and sigil magic, seidr and trance work, music and magic, defensive and offensive magic, magical safety, diagnosis and healing magic, running ritual, folk magic, primal thursian magic, research and dissemination, building relationship with deity, the norse parts of the self, and loss and grief in spirituality.
